A Swing & A Miss

A comedic short film about a trumpet player studying swing and jazz. He meets an R&B singer with whom he immediately falls hopelessly and irrationally in love. The film follows the trumpet player during his exploration of love through both modern and old fashioned music, as well as interactions with his roommates and friends.

Ashanti teamed up with Alisha Newsom a producer in the midwest where the film was filmed in the heart of Chicago,IL.
